Backup & Disaster Recovery

Automated, encrypted, off-site backups with scheduled restore tests and a written recovery plan, so recovery is a procedure and not a gamble.

Backups only matter on the day you need to restore, and that is when many businesses discover theirs are incomplete, unencrypted or months old. We design backup systems around two questions: how fast must you be working again, and how much data can you afford to lose?

We follow the 3-2-1 rule, keep at least one immutable or offline copy to protect against ransomware, and test restores on a schedule. You get a recovery runbook your team can follow under pressure.

  • Encryption & off-site copies

Encrypted in transit and at rest, with copies stored away from your premises.

  • Ransomware protection

Immutable or offline copies that an attacker can’t alter or delete.

  • Restore testing

Frequently asked questions

What is the 3-2-1 rule?

Keep three copies of your data on two different types of storage, with one copy off-site. We add an immutable or offline copy and regular restore tests.

How often should we test restores?

At least quarterly for critical systems, and after any major change. Until a backup has been restored, you’re only assuming it works.

Where are backups stored?

Wherever your requirements allow: Canadian cloud storage, a second site, or both. Everything is encrypted before it leaves your systems.
